Adnah Caldin was the commander of the Partridge from approximately December of 1943 to April of 1944. There are many stories from members of the crew about his command of the ship. However, I do not have any information on his military career before or after the Partridge or contact with any of his family (which limits access to military records). The scant information that I do have is that he served in the U.S. Navy from June of 1930 to June of 1956 and he was married to a Louise Siana Caldin.
There have been a few people who, in searching for relatives online, come across this site. I’m hoping that by putting this name out there we can shed more light on the history of the Partridge. If you are a relative or Adnah N. Caldin or have any information on him, please let me know.
