Going through some of my grandmother’s scrapbooks, I came across these photos that I thought should be up here.  It’s amazing how different these photos look after going through the ship’s logs and reading about the people in the photos.  Most of these were taken while the crew was on leave out of Norfolk.  My grandparents lived in Maryland, close enough to see each other when they were on leave.

Helen Berre & Tim Donovan.  My grandmother wrote of the photo:  “Tim came home with your Dad (Thurman Krouse) one time and when I took them back to DC to catch the bus to Norfolk, I asked Helen to go along.  We worked in the same office at Fairchild.  The never saw each other again.”
